Since its creation in 1982, the Urology Service grew and gained independence.
IPO has no domiciled beds, being that each Service uses the ones it needs, although, of course, for a matter of easiness, the Urology patients are hospitalized, preferably, in the 9th floor of the Main Building.
The operating theatre, located on the 4th floor of the same Urology building, operates according to the needs of each Service, evaluated in a meeting of the Surgery Department through the Clinical Management. It is a body with the function of guaranteeing the accreditation criteria of Caspe Healthcare Knowledge Systems are met, which the hospital has since 2004.
As a consequence of the accreditation’s demands was the need of reducing the time of the waiting list for surgery, which was around three months. Thus, the Urology Service began using the operating theatre three mornings and three afternoons per week.
